Hello there! I am sure if you are stumbling upon this blog you have some kind of interest in music in one way or another… maybe? Well assuming you do, then this is the blog you wanna read if you are looking for a concert to go to this summer!!
Jack Johnson
Jack Johnson is heading everywhere around the United States and Canada. From New York to Miami, to Seattle to the southern tip of California, Jack Johnson is getting his way around after the past few extremely successful albums. If you like music with great lyrics, rhythm and an overall simple yet cheerful feel to it, don’t miss it when he comes your way!
WARPED TOUR
Warped Tour has a great lineup this year, but varies in most areas. Every area will get to enjoy Angels & Airwaves, which is the headliner. Depending on your area you may even get to see… *gasp* JEFFREE STAR!! Danger Radio, sadly along with Cute is What We Aim for, is on a tour which you can most likely catch as well!
If you are wondering about warped tour, you can go to Warped Tour.com’s Dates Section and see if you missed it. If you are in the upper half of the United States it isn’t too late! California gets to enjoy Warped Tour returning back as well for a second trip in 2008!
Colbie Caillat & John Mayer
Do you live in Colorado, California, Texas, Arizona? Roughly in that area? Well if you are a die hard Colbie or John Mayer fan I highly suggest you check this tour out. Two of the hottest artists in the pop/rock category at this time in the same venue!? Yeah, hot stuff, extremely hot stuff. Too bad I am all the way up here in Seattle!
The Fleet Foxes are a Seattle based indie/folk band.
“We aim to be adventurous and true to ourselves and to enjoy our time together—the music we make is a reflection of our instincts. To me, the most enjoyable thing in the world is to sing harmony with people, so we do that a bunch. We love acoustic guitars, electric guitars, big rolling tom drums, mandolins, dulcimers, bass guitars, bass pedals, organs, pianos, kotos, and most of all harmony and melody. We’ve succeeded for ourselves if we’ve made a song where every instrument is doing something interesting and melodic. ”
I have ‘Winter White Hymnal’ by the Fleet Foxes up for grabs in this free mp3. Winter White Hymnal is one of their most popular songs, and one of the most descriptive and rhythmic. I would recommend a download of it! Fleet Foxes - Winter White Hymnal free download
Tila Tequila
Tila Tequila has been mentioned before here on MSbands.com… quite a few times actually. I suppose you could say we have quite a fancy for her. Just look at that picture… come on? Yeah… thought so. Tila has been featured on countless magazines within the past two years thanks mainly to her MySpace fame. She has over 3 million MySpace friends with millions of plays on her MySpace music player. She is currently busting up the local Los Angeles club scene with her hardcore music.
Oh and to top it all off, here is a free Tila Tequila mp3 download of ‘I Love You’ courtesy of MSbands.com
BEESTINGS are a Seattle based indie/rock band who boast a sound which instantly gives you the craving you were searching for when you were browsing for indie-rock music. The sound is comparable to the riffs and sounds of Minus the Bear, lyrics similar to Bright Eyes ( in a less pessimistic way ) and the voice of a softly spoken, good hearted, gentle… well honestly I can’t compare it to anyone. If you are in the mood for some gentle indie-rock I really recommend this band… PLUS they have 3 free songs up for download on their MySpace page!!
The Kooks have a brand new single out titled ‘Shine On’. The Kooks are a U.K band who are making a huge hit in the U.S. They just recently played a MySpace Secret Show at a Coffee Shop over in Portland,Oregon where thousands of fans waited for a chance to see a glimpse of The Kooks.
Hey there guys & gals! Today I have three free albums up for download!!
First off :
The Future Sound of Tokyo: Self Titled.
The Future Sound of Tokyo specializes in Drum & Bass. Many odd sounds are hear throughout many of their songs. Sometimes it sounds like a mouse is eating some cheese as a beat, or sometimes perhaps you may feel as if crickets are jumping off of skyscrapers. The Future Sound of London has a unique feel to the common Drum & Bass genre. PLUS! The lyrics/songs mixed are very fitted for how the beat feels.
Bloc Party is a U.K phenomenon in which has been hitting the world in quite a fast speed as far as popularity goes. They headed a tour with Smoosh last year, and now they are headlining tours across the nation… or WERE headlining tours across the nation. Currently no new tour dates have been posted, due to work on the new album… I can wait for it though, it will be well worth it.
The Arctic Monkeys are not currently on tour, sadly! They have been co-headlining spring festivals around the world for the past two years, whether it was Sasquatch, Coachella, or even Glastonbury! Arctic Monkeys are already working on a fourthcoming album! Expected for release by this October!! Yes! 2008!
Hey there guys! This is Michael Cullen here, and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas as well as Happy Holidays. Today I will be counting down the top 10 Christmas songs of 2007. Now this is as far as what I have heard as far as radio play, MySpace Plays and YouTube Views go, so its not entirely just judged by my taste in music.
#10
MXPX- Gimme Christmas
MXPX is a band from Bremerton, Washington. MXPX is a clash between Christian Punk & Pop Punk. According to the band
” MySpace is great. It is the place where everyone goes daily. Everyone’s got a MySpace. Everyone’s on it more than they like to admit. When you click on that MySpace main page, if your band pops up there, people are going to check it out.”
Personally the sound reminds me of a clash between The Beastie Boys & The young Good Charlotte, not to offend them.
#9
Harvey Danger- Sometimes You Have to Work on Christmas
Harvey Danger is another band based in Seattle, Washington. They have been around for a while, and of course I am sure most of you all know the song ‘Flagpole Sitta’. If you don’t know it by name, you will know it by hearing it. You can add ‘Sometimes You Have to Work on Christmas’ as well as ‘Flagpole Sitta’ on their MySpace Page.
#8
Man Without Wax- J.I.N.G.L.E Bells
Man Without Wax recorded a track last year titled ‘J.I.N.G.L.E Bells’. This year it is back and popular on their MySpace Page. If you want a catchy tune that is a twist on the old classic, check it out!
#7
Taking Back Sunday- 12 Days of Christmas
Taking Back Sunday is a band from New York that has been around since 1999 and they are still going strong. The song is great, but the video is where all the fun is. The song you can tell was a pretty stress free and uplifting song compared to many of their other songs. This video is one of the four featured MySpace Christmas Videos this year.
#6
Danger:Radio- All I Want For Christmas Is You
Danger:Radio is an Alternative Funk band, based out of the Edmonds,Washington area. Danger:Radio played Bumbershoot, Bamboozle, and is rapidly increasing their audience, and now draws a steady 5,000+ plays a day on MySpace. You can click the above link and get a free download of their Christmas Song!

Death Cab For Cutie- Christmas Baby Please Come Home
Death Cab is once again ANOTHER band from Seattle. I suppose Seattle bands have quite a nice taste of Christmas, regardless of the fact that Seattle hasn’t had a white Christmas in about 10 years! This video is an Amateur video added a couple weeks ago, I find the video quite good actually, as well as the song.
#4
Relient K- Sleigh Ride
This video is meant to be listened to, not watched. The reason why this is number 4, is because of the rising tension in the song, compared to all of the other versions of this cover. I feel Relient K turned this song around and made it all their own. It isn’t very rockish either, it is pretty Christmas-like and very poppy. I like the twist they have on this song.
TOP 3!!
#3
Michael Buble- The Christmas Song
According to many people, Michael Buble’s cover of ‘The Christmas Song’ has more enthusiasm and pizazz than Crosby’s original version. The video above is nothing special, but it is the music that you must listen to. Michael Buble put out a Christmas Album ‘Let It Snow’.
#2
Pokemon- I’m Giving Santa A Pikachu For Christmas
This video is great, the song is wonderful. I need to try and cover all genres, and I feel this video hit the top in humor. The song makes you want to hum along, and it actually gets you in the Christmas spirit. The lyrics are Christmasy, and its an all around humorific video.
#1!!!
The Raveonettes- Christmas Song
The Raveonettes are number one because of the passion you can hear in the song, the dramatic lyrics as well as how the instruments are Holiday-like. The Raveonettes are based out of New York, and have grown dramatically in the past 5 years. This song has been seen on thousands of MySpace profiles, and The Raveonettes have increased the song play dramatically as well as have moved much higher on the Top MySpace Artists list once they put this song on their MySpace.
Well, thanks for listening, watching & reading this post guys & gals. If you want to subscribe to read more amazing articles like this, either subscribe at the top, or even click here.
Happy Holidays, readers, and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do (I heard that from every one of my teachers!).

So, last night I went and saw Vanessa Carlton live, with Graham Colton. What a performance!
Sadly, most performers tend to sell-out, or not be as interactive with their fans.
Graham Colton played a cover of “I won’t back down” by Tom Petty, and half way through the song he cracked up laughing, and the audience cheered and laughed with him. He joked around about how his ex girlfriend was a “bitch” and he joked about how everyone needed to buy a C.D.
Now if he was not playing at The Crocodile Cafe in Seattle, which is a small venue, then more than likely he would not have been as unserious.
But luckily small venues still exist.
Here is ‘Here Right Now’ by Graham Colton, the entire album up for download for free : Tracks on ‘Here Right Now’ by Graham Colton
1. Telescope
2. You Find A Way
3. Best Days
4. Forget about you
5. On Your Side
6. Cellophane Girl
7. Always In Love
8. If Love Was Enough
9. Whatever Breaks My Heart
10. Take Your Back
11. New Year’s Resolution
12. Let It Go
Vanessa Carlton was stunning. She opened with ‘Nolita Fairytale’ off of her new album, but also played such songs as ‘White Houses, Thousand Miles, and Heroes & Thieves” She had a good 70 minute performance at the minimum, and was such an entertainer. I thought she was mainstream, but performing in front of say, eh, 400 people at a small cafe doesn’t seem very mainstream to me. She stopped playing mid way through a song, because the pedal was too squeaky. She must have said the ‘F’ word 20 times, and this was an all ages show, so little kids were there, but she apologized. I love how she was open with her life and her opinions.
It was a great show.
The Band of Horses includes members of the band Carissa’s Weird, which was a great indie success.
Members include:
Ben Bridwell
Rob Hampton
& Creighton Barrett
Last night, October 6th, they played a MySpace Secret Show at The Vera Project in Seattle, WA. I JUST found out about it today, one day late! Ugh I am so sad. I had to work anyways though, so I wouldn’t have been able to go.
Thousands tried to pack their way into the venue, but it wouldn’t hold anywhere near the people that wanted to get in… for free by the way, all MySpace Secret Shows are free.
B.O.H are on a nation-wide tour right now, with playing such cities as L.A, Chicago, N.Y, Seattle, Miami, etc. They are reaching about every state, which is nice if you live in like South Dakota or some out of the way state like that.
The new C.D is out October 9th, and there are a few songs of the album on their MySpace page, if you want to listen to the new stuff. The new stuff sounds similar, but the lyrics didn’t get old at all. The sound always seems to be something new as well, so I think we are all in for a great treat.
