BERLIN (Reuters) - The decomposed corpse of a German man was found alone in his bed after nearly seven years, police in the western city of Essen said Thursday.
The police said in a statement the man was 59 and unemployed at the time of his death. He most likely died of natural causes on November 30, 2000, the date he received a letter from the Welfare Office found in the apartment, police said.
Next to the dead man’s bed police found cigarettes, an open television guide and Deutschemark coins, which came out of circulation after the euro was introduced in 2002.
The man’s apartment was in a building with offices and apartments, many of which are now empty.
“No one missed him. No missing person report was ever filed,” the police said.
From Seattle Washington, a band named Window View wrote a song about this old man.

This isn’t a huge widely known band, by any means. But if you live in the northwest area, or Ireland then chances are they have played near your town… a few times.
Portugal. The Man is a mix of The Fall of Troy and Gatsby’s American Dream as far as I am concerned. The style of lyrics are very majestic as well as meaningful. Most songs are about destruction, or ’speaking out’ per say.
I went to see Portugal. The Man live on Saturday night, at the El Corazon in Seattle, WA. They played with Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground, Photo Atlas, and The Johnbenders. It was a pretty neat show, and Portugal. The Man brought their own lights for the stage!

Currently they have a new album ‘Church Mouth’ which has more of a mature sound to it. I prefer the classic Portugal. The Man, but the new stuff is great as well.
They are about to start a tour around Europe, so if you live there, be sure to catch them haha!

Recently I have been listening to some Jason Webley. His sounds are a mixture of Accordian-style-english-street-indie-guitar-bob_dylan-band kind of thing… Listen and you will know what I mean haha.
For those Techno / Electro fans I have a little something different in store. Cullen Thef. Cullen thef is a mix of Benny Bennassi teamed up with James Figurine… Cullen Thef is just getting started, but for a newbie, he’s pretty good.
Last but not least we have one of my favorite artists, many people haven’t heard of surprisingly. Bright Eyes. Bright Eyes could be a term to describe something in itself. It is a modern day Bob Dylan, with such Emotional/ Emo lyrics it will push your head in… or something like that at least. Bright Eyes consists of Conor Oberst primarily, with Mike Mogis (The Faint) and a select others that tour with him for shows and record with him, but its an ever changing band.
