The iPhone fanatics crowd stand outside today waiting in line at the Apple Store. It’s an easy assumption to say 40-50% of them don’t even know if they are ELIGIBLE to get the new iPhone [Working at AT&T , I deal with half of the calls regarding iPhone eligiblity… iPhone customers just don’t understand what the word ‘eligible’ means] yet they will still wait, patiently & calmly… Well, calmly for the most part. That one store in New York though, earlier today… That was quite a fight.

The 5th Avenue Apple Store in New York City experienced quite a fight this morning.

My pal, Carl Pei, was in New York, standing in line this morning for his iPhone 3GS & sent me the picture above. Turns out some homeless dude as trying to take an iPhone from some ‘New York Dude’ who just purchased one. The homeless guy was saying “What are you going to do with your old iPhone…” “You don’t need it anymore…” “Give it to someone who can use it…” etc. (I was thinking “What application would the homless man use? Some app that tells the monetary value for an iPhone & where to sell it!?).

So then the guy just started walking away but the homeless man TACKLED the New York dude for his old iPhone flooring him to the curb. Immediately the New York dude starts fighting back, throws a few good punches then tries leaving again. The homeless man then throws another punch & grabs the New York dude sending him back to the curb. Immediately two employees & someone from the line grabs the homeless man & gets him off the New York dude.

The moral of the story is that if you want to own an iPhone 3GS you better be prepared to put up a fight; even after you purchase the iPhone.
