David Cook took in a majority of 12 million votes, beating David Archuleta. It was truly a David vs. David battle.
Simon says “For the first time in forever, I don’t really care who wins, you are both winners.”
It sounds as if David Cook will receive much publicity in the near future but as far as long term MSbands.com feels as if David Archuleta will go further and receive more publicty and record deals. Similar to how the whole Ruben vs. Clay worked out.
Time of my life - David Cook

Dear David Cook,
Please come over so I can suck your dick.
You’re really cute.

Discover five careers in music in which nearly everyone can do… if they have the passion for it!
1: - Street Team Organizer
A street team is usually a group of people who promote a band/event. Most concerts come into a town and awareness of the concert is promoted by fliers, ads, or even free C.Ds of the artists. The people you see distributing these are more likely than not part of a street team. Every artist needs a good street team in order to make strong ticket sales when they come into your town.
Try to recruit people of an age that appeal to your audience!
Do you have strong event planning skills? Do you enjoy the end result of a project? Do you simply just strive to have a successful outcome? Interested in the music industry? Perhaps consider the job of a street team organizer. Organize one artist that you admire to start out with, then move on to hold a handful of artists who you organize events for? Who knows where this could take you?
Every band/artist needs an album if they want to get their name out there. If you were an artist wouldn’t you want something with hand made quality? Think about it? Physical Compact Disc sales have been dropping exponentially for the past decade. What is one of the incentives you can give the customer to purchase your C.D? Custom artwork in your album! You can’t download that and print it off the internet, it would look pretty crumby.
Many new albums (such as the Smoosh album cover for She Like Electric above ) are putting in incentives that drive consumers to purchase the physical C.D. These incentives include giveaways with a Proof of Purchase code, or a limited edition band sticker/pin. Custom Artwork is just one of the many great incentives that consumers want!
3: - Show Reviewer
Like taking pictures of bands? Do you always tell your friends about the concert you went to last weekend?
This guy right here has a good idea for a career… but I think many people could probably do a better job without sounding so drunken and creepy. Aside from that a concert reviewer can make any amount of money depending on how strong of a drive to succeed you have. Do you want to have your article featured in the town paper for free? Or maybe start an online blog? If you really want you could start your own column in your state’s newspaper?… it can be done.
4: - Concert Decorator
Many of us strive to express ourselves to show our individuality on a daily basis. Personally I show mine by my MySpace Profile Song, my blogs and even what shirt I put on in the morning. Are you one of those people who think about becoming an interior designer? Like designing sets for school performances? Need some practice before you step out into the real world? A great way to start is to design and/or decorate venues to prepare for the nights concert.
If you REALLY get good you could end up designing sets for the Flaming Lips! They are on The Rolling Stones’ top 50 bands to see before you die!
This could include the tech side (Lights, Sounds, Cameras, etc.) , the decorations (Fliers, Ribbon, gift bags?) , and even the set itself. Going about getting a job like this has much to with networking and being fearless when it comes to rejection. A great way to start is to use your MySpace account and start talking to a handful of small local bands and see when their next show is. Ask how you can help out and gradually step up from there. Experience is key in this field and you can get it pretty easily.
5: - Music Blog Writer/Ranter (Hah)
Who doesn’t love ranting on about how Blink - 182 should have stayed together and how Minus The Bears’ guitarist is way to good for the band, etc. I am pretty confident that most everyone loves ranting on about their personal subject of interest. With some videos shot by your phone/camera posted on YouTube, a WordPress account and maybe some simple HTML knowledge you can soar to be the best!
Many music related blogs are focused around a particular topic (MSbands.com is focused around free MP3s and MySpace in general). Free mp3 blogs usually do quite well (Who likes paying for music these days anyways?). As do most blogs reviewing concerts and bands. The number one way to drive traffic to your site when it relates to reviews is to post the actual review on the Band’s MySpace. If it is a good review then more than likely the band will end up posting it on their MySpace page! Boom! Instant success to your site!
So you just read about 5 of the top careers in music that you may not have known existed or at the very least did not strongly consider until now. Careers are quite a big step from a simply hobby or job so you have to make it something you enjoy!! If you are passionate about Music then go into an actual CAREER involving music!
I may end up posting another 5 careers if this is a hit! SUBSCRIBE to get an update of it I end up doing so or not!
So, I posted a little while ago on Wintergreen’s Music Video “How to Make Meth”.
Controversy is still going on, and views keep skyrocketing up.
According to the comments on their YouTube Video, all of it is bogus and there to hurt people.
762FullMetalJacket says
Oh, god, what a stack of shit… I found it hilarious, but the problem is all the retards out there who don’t know that ‘NaOH5′ is chemically impossible will be trying to do it.
Kudos, though, for mercilessly mocking all the retarded online recpies for meth and bannana peel acid and shit, though.
LaLaShizna says:
Hello the carbon is in the FRESH STEP litter!!! Gees read the damn box - it’s in their marketing verbiage on the Fresh Step kitty litter box it clearly says “with odor eliminating carbon”. So unless I’m an complete idiot there is carbon — Note I only took the general chemistry class in college — so not claiming to be a “chemist” that’s for damn sure!
Hehe nonetheless I think I’m going to give it a try - meth is fun but dangerous to make - this doesn’t seem as scary - let’s hope…
Obviously these people are thinking about making this ‘made-up?’ chemical. Most people have said:
Dextropolamine = Not a real drug.
Pentocyclene = Not a real drug.
According to most people, the meth being made aren’t even real types of drugs.
I just know that Wintergreen knows how to get their name out there, and have some fun doing so.
Here is the video again for those who want to watch it!
First off let’s start it off with Kanye West’s Glow in the Dark Tour
I live in Seattle, and I got to catch an amazing show at the Key Arena in Seattle on the 16th of April. Lupe Fiasco, Rihanna & N.E.R.D were also there and almost as amazing as Kanye.
The next couple days he must have only have been thinking of Seattle because according to a new internet blog post titled ‘Please forgive me Sac-Town’, he writes: “I can’t believe I bust a spinal tap (made such a big mistake)! It’s no excuse for this I wish I could sink in a black whole (sic).
“When I said Seattle and there was no crowd response I was up on my spaceship platform thinking damn… I think I just said the wrong city!!!!! I kind of muffled the words so I was praying nobody really caught it.
“I guess all those hours that me and Phill spent making my mic clear as possible back fired on me! We had a lot of problems with the video servers on the first 3 songs and that completely threw me off! Hey, I’m not perfect. Hope everybody had a good time. I’m a man, I can say it… I’m sorry.”
I, personally, think it is kind of funny but the Sacramento fans probably don’t feel the same way.

Tila Tequila’s Success
Tila Tequila was nomated for Spike TV’s 2nd annual guys choice awards for the “So Hot They’re Famous” category. She is competing against Kim Kardashian so it may be a tough one.
Who is Kim Kardasian?
THAT is Kim Kardashian. She is an American stylist, apparel retailer as well as a television personality. She is mostly known for her social life, appearance on Keeping up with The Kardasian’s and her sex tape with Ray J.

Hey there guys & gals! Today I have three free albums up for download!!
First off :
The Future Sound of Tokyo: Self Titled.
The Future Sound of Tokyo specializes in Drum & Bass. Many odd sounds are hear throughout many of their songs. Sometimes it sounds like a mouse is eating some cheese as a beat, or sometimes perhaps you may feel as if crickets are jumping off of skyscrapers. The Future Sound of London has a unique feel to the common Drum & Bass genre. PLUS! The lyrics/songs mixed are very fitted for how the beat feels.
Bloc Party is a U.K phenomenon in which has been hitting the world in quite a fast speed as far as popularity goes. They headed a tour with Smoosh last year, and now they are headlining tours across the nation… or WERE headlining tours across the nation. Currently no new tour dates have been posted, due to work on the new album… I can wait for it though, it will be well worth it.
The Arctic Monkeys are not currently on tour, sadly! They have been co-headlining spring festivals around the world for the past two years, whether it was Sasquatch, Coachella, or even Glastonbury! Arctic Monkeys are already working on a fourthcoming album! Expected for release by this October!! Yes! 2008!
The Official 2008 Sasquatch Lineup has been announced!!
More than likely a good 15 bands will be added, and I would say 2-3 bands may cancel… hopefully M.I.A doesn’t bail out this year…
This year has a pretty intense lineup, featuring many bands in which have played the Sasquatch festival in the past.
Headlining bands:
The Cure, R.E.M, Death Cab, The Flaming Lips UFO show
[This show has been refered to one of the best shows you will see in your lifetime, and The Flaming Lips are voted number 16 on The Rolling Stones’ 100 bands you must see before you die].
Along with the headliners we have a few other mainstage bands:
Modest Mouse, M.I.A, Flight of the Concords, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Michael Franti & Spearhead & The Breeders.
Flight of the Concords
For a complete list of the confirmed bands SO FAR, look below:
Wait a second though… No CAT POWER!? No Helio Sequence… No Minus the Bear!?
Cat Power
I am hoping a few more are announced before March 8th, when tickets go on sale.
Last year a few bands were added last minute, such as Patrick Wolf, The Long Winters… That was also the day after M.I.A cancelled… so they had to do something.
Now I also hear Mars Volta is a band they are trying to get, to pair up with The Flaming Lips on the main stage… I suppose we are just going to have to find out, eh?
Here is a free song by M.I.A M.I.A- Boyz Remix
I hope you enjoyed this, and stay tuned for more Sasquatch Updates!
