Seattle, Washington. August 16th & 17th. What a great two days those were. Let’s go over what Hempfest is, then we can discuss the festivities… and the great merchandise and hemp products!

Seattle Hempfest 2008

Seattle Hempfest started in 1991. It’s goal is to, in a nutshell, legalize cannabis. There are thousands upon thousands of facts and arguments supporting pot apposed to the handful of reasons against it. Upon entering you instantly cannot walk a foot around hempfest without smelling the sweet smell of cannabis. You hear the sound of artists such as Los Marijuanos, or Handful of Luvin’, which is the perfect pot smoking music. This years theme was to legalize industrial hemp. It can help the economy, the environment, agriculture and many other factors in our society.

The highlight of my day there was seeing Rick Steves!
Rick Steves

Rick Steves is the host on many travel shows, traveling mostly around Europe. Showing Tourists what to do, and where to do it.
He preached about how something must be done… it must be now, so on so forth, etc. But the way he preached it was just so moving. Perhaps it felt so patriotic due to the large array of Obama posters everywhere you look, aligned with marijuana leaves on the sides. Or perhaps it could just be the smell in the air possibly making me a little loopy.

So there was great great food there, and a normal festival based pricing cost. But the most reasonable priced goods were the hash brownies and cookies!

Hash Marijuana Brownies Pot

What person wouldn’t buy a 5 dollar hash brownie so he/she can eat it in front of one of the hundreds of cops around the area. There are plenty of cops just watching to make sure no one is physically hurt. The police will not arrest you for smoking or possessing paraphernalia of any kind. It allows everyone to be happy, safe and stoned.

There were 5 stages!! One reggae, one folk, one TECHNO!, another two stages of soft rock, and then a few speakers at the stages in between performances.

Seattle Hempfest is every year, the third weekend of August! But if you missed it, then you can always check out Portland Hempstalk during the first weekend of September!
If you have ANY questions, please just post them here!
Thanks!
