I am sure most of you fellas are going to do something of a social matter on the fourth of July…
If you are not then this playlist will please you just as much I am sure.
Number 5:
Galaxie 500 - Fourth of July
This song involves the festive spirit along with the perfect background music for when you pop open your Coronas or Henry Weinhard Bottled Rootbeers. Check out the YouTube video for yourself!! They also have a few other great songs on their MySpace!
Number 4:
Just Jack - Starz in Their Eyes
A house-ish UK type of dance music which will surely grasp your audience right before they take the first bite out of their grilled hot dog / veggie dog. Just Jack has a sound similar to a funky version of The Streets remixed by a DJ with some techno-ish beats. If you want to check it out just click the above video!
Number 3:
Albert Hammond Jr. - 101
Albert Hammond Jr. is a member of ‘The Strokes’… bassist rather. He boasts a sound in which relieves the troubled soul with an attached guitar and drum set. ‘101′ is a song about returning to home… returning home for the holidays? You decide, just watch the video!
PAUSE: Cute girl just for the spirit
Number 2:
Sam Sparro - Black & Gold
That video is not the official video but these videos MSbands.com is posting right here isn’t meant for your viewing pleasure but rather for your sense of sound. This song is pretty much perfect for the intro to your fireworks show. It involves the electro/firework beats as well as the song has lyrics involving stars, sky and absence of a loved one… which is SO perfect for the activities of fireworks, right?
Number 1: Jack Johnson - Upside Down
Jack Johnson is a perfect selection when it comes to pretty much any kind of “shindig”. This song especially just celebrates a great climax to a wonderful day/night. “We will sing and dance… I don’t want this feeling to go away…”. Just great lyrics for a perfect day… I can’t say much more… except if you have a projector then this would be a great video to blast for everyone to see.
Wait a sec… Don’t you need some firework suggestions? Yeah! Heh, I think you do ;).
LADYBUGS
These babies start off like a spinning disk then out of nowhere fly up to the sky quite rapidly and explode. They will run you about 4 dollars for a pack just like this… Well worth every 10 cents.
Have a save Fourth of July mates!!
Ohh and one last thing!
-Don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE!!!
Yes! That is right! The entire movie ‘Wanted’ for free! You can stream it online… OR you can download the high speed high quality version! How great is that!?
‘A young man finds out his long lost father is an assassin. And when his father is murdered, the son is recruited into his father’s old organization and trained by a man named Sloan to follow in his dad’s footsteps.’ The film goes is a clash between the shock affect of ‘Saw’ and the effects/violence of ‘The Transporter’.
The Fleet Foxes are a Seattle based indie/folk band.
“We aim to be adventurous and true to ourselves and to enjoy our time together—the music we make is a reflection of our instincts. To me, the most enjoyable thing in the world is to sing harmony with people, so we do that a bunch. We love acoustic guitars, electric guitars, big rolling tom drums, mandolins, dulcimers, bass guitars, bass pedals, organs, pianos, kotos, and most of all harmony and melody. We’ve succeeded for ourselves if we’ve made a song where every instrument is doing something interesting and melodic. ”
I have ‘Winter White Hymnal’ by the Fleet Foxes up for grabs in this free mp3. Winter White Hymnal is one of their most popular songs, and one of the most descriptive and rhythmic. I would recommend a download of it! Fleet Foxes - Winter White Hymnal free download
Tila Tequila
Tila Tequila has been mentioned before here on MSbands.com… quite a few times actually. I suppose you could say we have quite a fancy for her. Just look at that picture… come on? Yeah… thought so. Tila has been featured on countless magazines within the past two years thanks mainly to her MySpace fame. She has over 3 million MySpace friends with millions of plays on her MySpace music player. She is currently busting up the local Los Angeles club scene with her hardcore music.
Oh and to top it all off, here is a free Tila Tequila mp3 download of ‘I Love You’ courtesy of MSbands.com
BEESTINGS are a Seattle based indie/rock band who boast a sound which instantly gives you the craving you were searching for when you were browsing for indie-rock music. The sound is comparable to the riffs and sounds of Minus the Bear, lyrics similar to Bright Eyes ( in a less pessimistic way ) and the voice of a softly spoken, good hearted, gentle… well honestly I can’t compare it to anyone. If you are in the mood for some gentle indie-rock I really recommend this band… PLUS they have 3 free songs up for download on their MySpace page!!
The Kooks have a brand new single out titled ‘Shine On’. The Kooks are a U.K band who are making a huge hit in the U.S. They just recently played a MySpace Secret Show at a Coffee Shop over in Portland,Oregon where thousands of fans waited for a chance to see a glimpse of The Kooks.
David Cook took in a majority of 12 million votes, beating David Archuleta. It was truly a David vs. David battle.
Simon says “For the first time in forever, I don’t really care who wins, you are both winners.”
It sounds as if David Cook will receive much publicity in the near future but as far as long term MSbands.com feels as if David Archuleta will go further and receive more publicty and record deals. Similar to how the whole Ruben vs. Clay worked out.
Time of my life - David Cook
From a recent bulletin on MySpace.com by Jeffree Star
Dear David Cook,
Please come over so I can suck your dick.
You’re really cute.
Love,
Miss Jeffree

Discover five careers in music in which nearly everyone can do… if they have the passion for it!
1: - Street Team Organizer
A street team is usually a group of people who promote a band/event. Most concerts come into a town and awareness of the concert is promoted by fliers, ads, or even free C.Ds of the artists. The people you see distributing these are more likely than not part of a street team. Every artist needs a good street team in order to make strong ticket sales when they come into your town.
Try to recruit people of an age that appeal to your audience!
Do you have strong event planning skills? Do you enjoy the end result of a project? Do you simply just strive to have a successful outcome? Interested in the music industry? Perhaps consider the job of a street team organizer. Organize one artist that you admire to start out with, then move on to hold a handful of artists who you organize events for? Who knows where this could take you?
Every band/artist needs an album if they want to get their name out there. If you were an artist wouldn’t you want something with hand made quality? Think about it? Physical Compact Disc sales have been dropping exponentially for the past decade. What is one of the incentives you can give the customer to purchase your C.D? Custom artwork in your album! You can’t download that and print it off the internet, it would look pretty crumby.
Many new albums (such as the Smoosh album cover for She Like Electric above ) are putting in incentives that drive consumers to purchase the physical C.D. These incentives include giveaways with a Proof of Purchase code, or a limited edition band sticker/pin. Custom Artwork is just one of the many great incentives that consumers want!
3: - Show Reviewer
Like taking pictures of bands? Do you always tell your friends about the concert you went to last weekend?
This guy right here has a good idea for a career… but I think many people could probably do a better job without sounding so drunken and creepy. Aside from that a concert reviewer can make any amount of money depending on how strong of a drive to succeed you have. Do you want to have your article featured in the town paper for free? Or maybe start an online blog? If you really want you could start your own column in your state’s newspaper?… it can be done.
4: - Concert Decorator
Many of us strive to express ourselves to show our individuality on a daily basis. Personally I show mine by my MySpace Profile Song, my blogs and even what shirt I put on in the morning. Are you one of those people who think about becoming an interior designer? Like designing sets for school performances? Need some practice before you step out into the real world? A great way to start is to design and/or decorate venues to prepare for the nights concert.
If you REALLY get good you could end up designing sets for the Flaming Lips! They are on The Rolling Stones’ top 50 bands to see before you die!
This could include the tech side (Lights, Sounds, Cameras, etc.) , the decorations (Fliers, Ribbon, gift bags?) , and even the set itself. Going about getting a job like this has much to with networking and being fearless when it comes to rejection. A great way to start is to use your MySpace account and start talking to a handful of small local bands and see when their next show is. Ask how you can help out and gradually step up from there. Experience is key in this field and you can get it pretty easily.
5: - Music Blog Writer/Ranter (Hah)
Who doesn’t love ranting on about how Blink - 182 should have stayed together and how Minus The Bears’ guitarist is way to good for the band, etc. I am pretty confident that most everyone loves ranting on about their personal subject of interest. With some videos shot by your phone/camera posted on YouTube, a WordPress account and maybe some simple HTML knowledge you can soar to be the best!
Many music related blogs are focused around a particular topic (MSbands.com is focused around free MP3s and MySpace in general). Free mp3 blogs usually do quite well (Who likes paying for music these days anyways?). As do most blogs reviewing concerts and bands. The number one way to drive traffic to your site when it relates to reviews is to post the actual review on the Band’s MySpace. If it is a good review then more than likely the band will end up posting it on their MySpace page! Boom! Instant success to your site!
So you just read about 5 of the top careers in music that you may not have known existed or at the very least did not strongly consider until now. Careers are quite a big step from a simply hobby or job so you have to make it something you enjoy!! If you are passionate about Music then go into an actual CAREER involving music!
I may end up posting another 5 careers if this is a hit! SUBSCRIBE to get an update of it I end up doing so or not!
